On the cathodic doping of poly(3-methylthiophene)

Abstract
The characteristics of the P-3MeTh redox processes have been analysed by voltammetry and chronoamperometry; the transport of ions between the polymer film and the bathing solution in a potential range covering both p- and n-doping regions has been monitored by using the probe beam deflection technique. The obtained data is discussed under the light of a model considering the polymer is formed by segments of different lengths.

Résumé
Les caractéristiques des processus redox du P-3MeTh sont analysées par voltampérométrie et chronampérométrie dans un domaine de potentiel où les dopages n et p ont lieu. Le mouvement des ions entre le polymère et la solution a été suivi par la technique d'effet mirage. Les résultats sont examinés à la lumière d'un modèle basé sur l'existence de segments de différente longueurs dans le polymère.
