Evaluation of the performance of thermal diffusion columns
Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant, Union Carbide Nuclear Company, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, U.S.A., U.S.A..
A correlation and analysis are made of both steady state and transient data obtained from hot-wire thermal diffusion columns separating a multicomponent mixture of xenon isotopes. Procedures for analyzing both the steady state and transient experimental data on the separation of multicomponent isotopic mixtures are indicated. The observed performance of these columns is compared with that predicted by theory.
