Ultrasonic absorption in solutions containing non-electrolytic dissociation equilibria
Universität Freiburg i. Br., Germany.
A short review is given of the different molecular processes producing ultrasonic absorption in liquid systems. The peculiarities in the case of liquid mixtures and solutions are discussed in detail for such solutes which exhibit chemical reaction equilibria. Results are reported on the equilibrium between the monomers and dimers of benzoic acid in dilute solution with carbon tetrachloride, cyclohexane, benzene, toluene, chlorobenzene and chloroform as solvent.
