Fluorescence properties and stimulated emission in substituted europium chelates

Benzoyltrifluoroacetone was mono-substituted by F, Cl and Br in the ortho-, meta- and para-position of the benzene ring. The nine substituted ligands were used to prepare the tetrakis Eu(III) chelates. Fluorescence and absorption were studied. In general, it was found that ortho-substitution reduces the threshold energy for stimulated emission.
Résumé
On a mono-substitué du benzoyltrifluoacétone par F, Cl et Br en positions ortho-, méta- et para- de l’anneau benzénique. On a employé les neuf ligandes substitués pour préparer les tetrakis Eu(lll) chélates. On a étudié la fluorescence et l’absorption. En général, l'ortho-substitution réduit le seuil de l’énergie pour l’émission stimulée.
