A study of molecular rearrangement in a phase transformation by means of diamagnetic anisotropy measurements
Laboratory of Chemical Physics of the Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry, Technical University, Wroclaw, Poland.
In a phase transformation, the principal diamagnetic susceptibilities of a crystal are expected to be changed abruptly at the transition point which is connected with the reorientation of magnetically anisotropic molecules. This point of view is illustrated with an example of α → β transformation in pentachlorophenol.
