Probability for autoionization in different doubly excited states of neutral Be, Mg AND Zn
Spectroscopy Laboratory, Department of Physics Banaras Hindu University Varanasi-221005, India.
The probability for autoionization of the several doubly excited states (i.e. 1P, 3P, 1D and 1F) of some two valent atoms (Be, Mg and Zn) have been calculated. The probability is calculated on the basis of the perturbation theory approach suggested by Wu (1) utilizing the continuous wave functions, obtained from numerical integration of the corresponding wave equation. No account of exchange has been taken. Values of calculated autoionization probability seem reasonable.
