Mode of action of calcimycin (A 23187) — II — a study of its interactions with alkali and alkali-earth cations in methanol-water mixtures

Abstract

Interactions between calcimycin (A 23187) and alkali or alklali-earth cations are studied in methanol-water mixtures. Using both potentiometric and spectrométric teenies allows to get formation constants of the various complexes, as well as their electronic spectra. Adding water to methanol does not induce any drastic change both in the nature of the species involved and in the relative magnitude of the various formation constants.

Résumé

Les interactions entre la calcimycine (A 23187) et les cations alcalins et alcalino-terreux sont étudiées dans les mélanges méthanol-eau. L'usage conjoint de techniques potentiométriques et spectrophotométrique permet d'accéder aux constantes de formation des complexes et aux spectres électroniques des différentes espèces impliquées. L’addition d'eau au méthanol n’entraine pas de changement notable de la nature des espèces formées et des ordres de grandeur relatifs des différentes constantes de formation.
