Application of the INDO-MO method to the calculation of hyperfine coupling constants of sulphur-containing radicals
II. — Polycyclic radicals

Une étude des distributions de spin dans une série de radicaux polycycliques conjugués du soufre a été effectuée en utilisant la méthode UHF-INDO-MO sans et avec l’annihilation de la composante quartet de spin. Les résultats rendent compte d’une manière satisfaisante des spectres ESR mesurés. L’annihilation de la composante quartet de spin provoque seulement une faible amélioration de la corrélation avec l’expérience.
Abstract
UHF-INDO-MO calculations without and with the annihilation of the quartet spin component have been carried out on a variety of polycyclic sulphur-containing conjugated radicals. The results reproduce satisfactorily the general features of the observed ESR spectra. Annihilation of the quartet spin component improves only slightly the correlation with experiment.
