Multicritical phenomena in liquid crystals

A detailed review is given of the progress that has been made toward the understanding of the Nematic-Smectic A identical point and the Nematic-Smectic A-Smectic C multicritical point. Other known or hypothetical liquid crystal multicritical points are reviewed briefly.
Résumé
Nous présentons une revue détaillée du progrès vers la compréhension du point tricritique nématique-smectique A et du point polycritique nématique-smectique A-smectique C. Nous présentons aussi une brève mise au point d’autres points polycritiques dans les déjà connus où soit hypothétiques.
