Solidification behaviour of organic eutectic, succinonitrile-neopentyl alcohol system
Chemistry Department, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005, India.
Abstract
With a view to elucidating the chemistry of succinonitrile-neopentyl alcohol system, the phase diagram, linear velocity of crystallization, microstructure, diffusion and thermodynamic behaviour have been studied. While crystallization data justifies the applicability of Jackson-Hunt theory for the eutectic, the results of thermodynamic investigation indicate an appreciable interaction among the components forming the eutectic melt.
