The conformational properties of calix[4]arenes 1h NMR and molecular mechanics calculations

The conformational properties of calix[4]arenes were studied by means of temperature-dependent 1H NMR measurements. Energies of activation for conformational inversion are assigned. Corresponding molecular mechanics calculations are in agreement with the greatest stability of the cone conformation.
Résumé
Les propriétés conformationelles des calix[4]arenes sont étudiées par RMN du proton. Les énergies d'activation pour l'inversion conformationelle en sont déduites. Les calculs de mécanique moléculaire correspondants sont en accord avec la plus grande stabilité de la conformation cone.
