An overview of the statistical theory of unimolecular reactions (RRKM) and recent developments

After a brief historical introduction, the RRKM theory of unimolecular reactions is reviewed with emphasis on the general concepts that have influenced the subject over the years. Discussed are recent developments concerning both the microcanonical and canonical unimolecular rate constant.
Résumé
Après une brève introduction historique, la théorie RRKM des réactions unimoléculaires est présentée en insistant sur les concepts généraux qui ont influencé le sujet au cours des années. On discute les développements récents qui concernent la constante de vitesse unimoléculaire microcanonique ainsi que la constante de vitesse canonique.
