The isopiestic method applied to an investigation of the thermodynamic properties of ternary Cu-Ni-Mg alloys

Abstract

A pseudo-isopiestic method was devised to be applied to the measurement of magnesium vapor pressures. Thermodynamic activities and partial molar enthalpies of mixing of magnesium were determined In the ternary Cu-Mg-Ni system along two isopleths with x_Cu/x_Ni = 0.5 and 2.

Résumé

Une méthode pseudo-isopiestique a été mise au point pour mesurer les pressions de vapeur du magnésium. Les activités thermodynamiques et les enthalpies molaires partielles de mélange du magnéslum ont été déterminées dans le système ternaire Cu-Mg-Ni, le long de deux isoplèthes avec x_Cu/x_Ni = 0,5 et 0,2.
