L’ionisation et la dissociation des molécules par des électrons monoénergétiques
II. — États excités de l’ion moléculaire de CO2 et CS2

Abstract
The ionization of the two triatomic molecules CO2 and CS2 has been investigated using monoenergetic electrons. It was possible to detect different excited states of the molecular ions. For CO2, four different states have been found at 13,85 υ, 17,23 υ, 19,25 υ and 21,00 υ. Their identification has been partly established by a comparison with UV spectroscopic data as well as with theoretical calculations of the molecular orbitals of that molecule. For CS2, no less than six states were detected at 10,15 υ, 12,01 υ, 13,60 υ, 14,76 υ, 15,90 υ and 18,10 υ. A tentative identification is proposed; in particular, a bent excited state of CS2+ seems to have been identified and a satisfactory agreement is found with the known spectroscopic data.
