Electronic and vibrational spectra of 2-amino-5 chloropyridine

The near ultraviolet absorption spectra in the region 3 209-3 010 Å and the infrared absorption spectra in the region 300-4 000 cm-1 of 2-amino-5-chloro-pyridine have been investigated in vapour phase. The strong band appearing at 3 143,2 Å (31 805 cm-1) has been identified as the 0,0 band. All the bands have been analysed in terms of some ground and excited state fundamentals and a correlation of the upper state fundamental vibrations with the ground state vibrations observed in both the ultraviolet and infrared absorption spectra has been made. The assignment of the fundamental frequencies in ultraviolet and infrared spectra to the probable modes of vibration have also teen made.

Étude de l’absorption en phase gazeuse de l'amino-2 chloro-5 pyridine, dans le proche UV (3 209-3 010 Å) et l'IR (300-4 000 cm-1). La bande intense à 3 143,2 Å a été identifiée comme étant la bande 0-0. Toutes les bandes ont été analysées en termes de bandes fondamentales dans leurs niveaux (le base ou excités, et une corrélation établie entre les vibrations observées (dans l'UV comme dans l'IR) dans les niveaux inférieurs et supérieurs. L’attribution des bandes IR et UV aux modes de vibration correspondants est fournie.
