Intercalated fibers and their physical properties

Abstract

Intercalation provides a unique method for modification of the properties of carbon fibers. A brief review of some of the physical properties of intercalated graphite fibers is given. The use of a variety of characterization methods is discussed, including x-ray diffraction, transport measurements, Raman spectroscopy, electron microscopy and high magnetic field phenomena. The behavior of intercalated graphite fibers and bulk graphite is contrasted.

Les propriétés physiques des fibres de graphite insérées sont examinées, ainsi que les différentes méthodes de caractérisation utilisées: diffraction des rayons X, mesures des propriétés de transport, spectroscopie Raman, microscopie électronique et champs magnétiques élevés. On compare le comportement du graphite et celui des fibres.
